The Secret Life of Pigeons is a 40-page booklet created for a class assignment focused on editorial design and content development. Theoretically designed for the International Society of Anthrozoology, this field guide explores the rich history, quirky behavior, and surprising significance of one of the world’s most misunderstood birds. Adapted from A Pocket Guide to Pigeon Watching by Rosemary Mosco, the booklet balances accessible, research-based writing with thoughtful visual storytelling. I was responsible for researching and curating the content, editing the text, designing the layout, and producing the final printed piece. The book’s color palette and imagery move from vibrant to muted and back again—mirroring the narrative arc from pigeons’ celebrated past, to their modern-day stigma, and finally to a more hopeful perspective. The result is an educational and engaging piece that reminds readers that even the most familiar creatures have unexpected stories.
